Vance Joseph will be returning as head coach of the Denver Broncos for the 2018 campaign, team GM John Elway confirmed Monday following a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The 45-year-old heads into his sophomore campaign after going 5-11 in his first season as a head man. The Broncos had finished the previous year at 9-7 under Gary Kubiak and Joe DeCamillis, but despite the dip in victories in 2017, Elway and Co. remain invested in the Joseph project for the time being.

Joseph cut his teeth as a defensive backs coach for the 49ers, Texans and Bengals before running the Miami Dolphins‘ D in 2016. He was hired by the Broncos in the ensuing offseason.
