Isaiah Thomas has patched up his rocky relationship with the man who traded him away this past summer.

While the Cleveland Cavaliers prepare to take on his former team, the Boston Celtics, Thomas will have to watch from the bench due to a minutes restriction as he returns from his hip injury.

But while he won’t get to play against Boston, Thomas took some time pregame to pour some love on the Celtics and assure reporters he and general manager Danny Ainge are now on speaking terms after a few text messages.

“How much do I watch the Celtics? I watch them a lot,” Thomas said Wednesday, courtesy of MassLive. “I like how they play. I love Brad Stevens. I love Marcus Smart even though he flops all the time. I love Terry Rozier. I love the coaching staff. Like I said, there’s no hard feelings.

“The only hard feelings is Danny didn’t send me no Christmas card this year. … Have I forgiven Danny? He texted me last night so we’re good.”

Thomas’ relationship with Ainge appeared seriously frayed immediately following the deal. He was visibly upset with the Celtics GM when he broke the megadeal to him over the phone, and the point guard later said in October he was considering never speaking to Ainge again.
